Moving From House to House III

ISSUES TO CONSIDER

--Be sure you want to buy/sell; list out your reasons (lifestyle, goals, financial)
What is your lifestyle? What are your personal and professional goals? What are your financial goals? Remember this blog is reviewing my ten biggest financial mistakes. If I had stayed in my first city for 30 years, I might never have had several jobs/careers or met my second wife. Well, I guess I could have moved and kept the house but probably not.

--Talk with the experts (a lender if buying) or a financial advisor if selling; use a successful real estate agent who can help you negotiate the nuances of marketing and selling (and/or buying) your home.
You and I spend at least 40 hours a week working at a full-time job and these professionals also spend 40+ hours working with real estate. The fact? Most know what they are talking about and can help you and me make home buying decisions. I’ve tried to find houses on my own and, though searching is easier now with the internet, I am not the masterful negotiator I sometimes think I am. I’m pretty sure I would have received better deals if I had let agents negotiate for me. Remember especially to use a buyers’ agent when purchasing a home. That commission comes from the purchasing side of the agreement; the seller pays those costs.
